believes that space holds great importance in
our national security. While the military
and intelligence community both maintain assets
for defense communications, navigation, weather
forecasting, and reconnaissance, we believe the
importance of space to national security
transcends the purely military applications of
space technology.The
same technologies are critical in the commercial
world, and are becoming increasingly vulnerable
to attack. What's more, the technologies
developed in the future conquest of space will
make important contributions to U.S. economic
security and national defense.
No well-rounded discussion of
national security is complete, then, without
covering the topic of U.S. space policy.

Lessons Learned from Russian Participation

with Russia.
What
can NASA learn from reality TV?
Even as NASA gears up for a return flight to the

last time people walked on the moon. Still, reality
television shows such as Fox's "American Idol" and
CBS's "Survivor," managed to captivate millions from
this age group. Can NASA take a page from
reality TV's playbook?
